Prov. 19:17. He who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed.

Psalm 113: 7-8. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap: He makes them sit with princes, with the princes of His people.

Prov. 31:8. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

Deu 24:18 He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

Deu 10:21 When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow.

Ps. 82:3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

Jam 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
